Continuing Ed

As a member of the American Massage Therapist Association, I am required to submit documentation of continuous professional education (CPE). The association requires that only accredited courses be taken. A minimum of 48 hours over a four year span is necessary to maintain membership.

I have training in Brain Circuits (Dyslexia, Memory and ADHD), Listening to the Body (understanding the effects of stress, exercise, pain, sleep deprivation etc.) and Pain Control (Fibromyalgia, Migraines, Chronic Pain and Sore Feet). Other courses including but not limited to, Massage for the Parkinsonian Patient, Geriatric Massage, Myotherapy, Neuromuscular Therapy, Hellerwork, Zero Balancing, Reiki, Lymphatic Drainage, Acupressure touch and massage for people with or living with cancer.

As a personal trainer, I attend numerous workshops on exercise and Sports Massage. Some advanced training workshops include:

  • Orthopedic Massage for soft tissue injuries
  • Massage for post operative radical mastectomy
  • Bell's Palsy, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Spastic Toticollis
  • Medical Massage for chronic and acute neck and low back pain
  • Nerve damage ie. herniated and/or bulging disc, sciatica etc.
  • Inflamation ie. Myositis, Tendosynovitis, Bursitis etc.
  • Pregnancy massage, Infant and child massage

I have attended the Atlantic Symposium given by the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, New York State AMTA Conventions, Medical Massage Therapy Conferences as well as numerous state Chapter and satellite meetings.
